Big news from the Cairngorms! Plant-e’s SensorSticks are now installed in the Cairngorms National Park, one of the UK’s most iconic landscapes and a leading region for peatland restoration.

The Park has vast expanses of blanket bog, providing vital carbon storage, water regulation and habitats to support biodiversity. Under schemes like Peatland ACTION, restoration here has the power to inspire scalable solutions for peatland-rich regions worldwide.Until recently, hydrological monitoring in the park was limited.

That’s now changing: last month we installed our first SensorSticks, delivering real-time, satellite-transmitted water-table data straight from the peat. This information will give the restoration team unprecedented insights into peatland hydrology and help strengthen long-term restoration outcomes.We are proud to collaborate on this work, especially following conversations sparked at last year’s Peatland Conference.
