Water Quality

Plant-e and partners are collaborating on maintenance-free, plant-energy-powered sensors for continuous, real-time monitoring of surface water quality around greenhouse and agricultural areas. By continuously measuring temperature and electrical conductivity (EC), the SensorStick provides reliable insights into changes in water quality and helps the system detect leaks and anomalies early. This promotes transparency, more sustainable water management, and compliance with water directives within greenhouse horticulture and agriculture.

Thanks to real-time data collection, land managers, water managers, and agricultural and horticultural businesses can respond more quickly to changes in water quality and potential sources of pollution. Continuous monitoring makes it possible to gain insight into trends over longer periods, optimize water management, and reduce the impact on surrounding ecosystems.

With LoRa connectivity, measurement data is automatically transmitted to an online dashboard, enabling remote monitoring of multiple locations without frequent on-site visits. This reduces labor costs, increases efficiency, and supports a data-driven approach to sustainable water management.
